Safeguarding
We take our duty to Safeguard all of our children very seriously. All staff are checked rigorously for their suitability to work with children. They are fully trained in all aspects of safeguarding and child protection.
At St Martins we work together to create and maintain a safe, supportive environment, protecting the rights and needs of children at all times. We have a responsibility to help identify signs of young people in need of additional support or protection and work with families to refer to additional agencies if and when required. Our aim is to ensure that all of our students are safe, happy, confident and secure.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead, Jessica Longhurst, has overarching responsibilities regarding safeguarding in school. We also have Deputy Safeguarding Leads across all of our sites at St Martins, Horizons and Project Search to support our students.

If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office on 01332 571151, and ask to speak to a member of the Safeguarding Team. Alternatively, please email stmartins-safeguarding@shaw-education.org.uk and a member of the team will get back to you.
We work closely together to offer support to families and have a dedicated family support team who are on hand to support families with a range of services for you and your child on their journey with us at St Martins and Horizons. Please refer to our Family Support page or Wellbeing page for more information or to access support.
